The construction of Tianning temple has began with Tang dynasty, later, generations continually renew it and build extensions. Now the area totals 4,500 square meters. The temple is composed of a triple entrance in the style of ancient constructions. In the Daxiong palace hall, 15 meters high, stays a large life-like image of Buddha. All previous dynasties have been collected here famous people’s inscriptions, poems, couplets hung on the columns of the hall, carved stones inscriptions. The memorial archway for all previous dynasties, proves the Gaoshan temple has an extraordinary status. The Su Dongpo’s handwriting "Wan mountain No.1", engraved in merorial gateway, is an unsolved legend, and gives a more mystical color to the Tianning temple.
